Maria Callas - "O Mio Babbino Caro"

Maria Callas (December 2, 1923 – September 16, 1977) was an American soprano and one of the most renowned opera singers of the 20th century, and for that, she was called La Divina. An extremely versatile singer, her repertoire ranged from classical opera seria to the bel canto operas of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini; further, to the works of Verdi and Puccini; and, in her early career, to the music dramas of Wagner.

The song "O mio babbino caro" (Oh my dear papa) it's from the operah Gianni Schicchi, by Giacomo Puccini, and it's based on a story that is referred to in Dante's The Divine Comedy. Although the story by Dante is dramatic, Puccini's opera is actually a comedy.
